1. I should have straightened this in Photoshop but don't feel like going back and doing it now.
2. The quilt on the couch, my favorite quilt my mother-in-law has ever made for me. I'll have to take a photo of it and share it one day. I showed her a Pottery Barn quilt in the catalog and 3 weeks later, she handed me her version of it. It's my favorite because, although I love the soothing neutral tones of our home, I'm a girl who is outnumbered by boys and boys don't like explosions of red and blue and yellow and pretty, flowery-print fabrics. Dragging it into the living room and assualting the ambience of the room makes me feel rebellious. I feel like Blondie with his poncho. Only my poncho has flowers.
I'm sure you can understand they don't give me any lip about it.
3. I need to appear tough and rebellious with my quilt because, sadly, there is only one person in our house who can challenge Will at chess. And it's not me. When your 8-year-old can beat you in a game of mental prowess, you have to have to be creative with maintaining your indomitable standing.
